TD presents African Heritage Month

Join us to celebrate and promote equity in accessing healthcare supports for Black Nova Scotians.

The Sickle Cell Disease Association of Atlantic Canada is celebrating Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month with a schedule of activities:

  • Networking reception
  • Notable speakers, including Dr. OmiSoore Dryden, Sharon Davis-Murdoch, Order of Canada, Dr. Barbara Hamilton-Hinch, and Martha Paynter, PhD
  • Performance by the Nova Scotia Mass Choir

Sickle Cell Disease strikes mainly those of African descent. September has become a time to raise awareness of the disease and to dispel misinformation available about sickle cell.
