Sinners is a supernatural horror film directed by Ryan Coogler that follows WWI veteran twin brothers (both played by Michael P. Jordan) who return to 1932 Mississippi to open a club, only to confront a vampiric evil tied to history, culture, and the seductive allure of eternal life.
This forces them to navigate spiritual struggles and the darkness within their own community. It blends historical drama with horror, exploring themes of identity trauma, and the search for freedom through the lens of the blues, Christianity, and Hoodoo, all against the backdrop of Jim Crow.
