Holocaust Remembrance Day Program

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Central Library

Description

The Atlantic Jewish Council invites you to join us for our annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Program.

This year’s program honours the life and legacy of Holocaust survivor Helena Jockel, author of We Sang in Hushed Voices. Her story of courage and resilience continues to inspire us and reminds us of the importance of bearing witness.

The evening will begin with a commemorative candle-lighting ceremony, followed by a special conversation featuring her granddaughter, Yolana Wassersug, in conversation with retired CBC radio broadcaster Olga Milosevich. Together, they will reflect on Helena’s enduring legacy and the responsibility of carrying memory forward to future generations. A reception follows the program.
