Kick off Pride with the Creative Community Impact Association and the Library for 'Cinema and Changemakers,' featuring a screening of Parade: Queer Acts of Love & Resistance, a powerful documentary exploring the history of Canada’s 2SLGBTQIA+ movement, followed by a panel discussion on queer storytelling, community, and activism.

Featuring:

  • Kenney Fitzpatrick - Founder of The Q LGBTQ Creative Network, host of Out Loud Radio, and Executive Director of Dance Nova Scotia.
  • Daniel MacKay - Longtime community activist, Chief Editor of Wayves Magazine, a 2SLGBTQIA+ publication serving Atlantic Canada, and a member of Elderberries.
  • Jacquelyn Miccolis - Executive Director of Creative Community Impact Association, community leader, and multidisciplinary artist dedicated to developing inclusive community programming and supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
  • Art Ross (Pillow Fite) - Trans, non-binary songwriter and lead vocalist of Pillow Fite, an award-winning queer indie-pop duo based in Halifax.
  • Jay Aaron Roy - Trans advocate, entrepreneur, and founder of Cape & Cowl Comics & Collectibles, an inclusive space that supports and welcomes 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.

This event offers an opportunity to connect, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversation. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
