An interesting science fiction book ( with some science ). Good plot and decent characterization. Definitely worth it for any fan of the genre.

This is one of Sawyers better books. It’s somewhat brief --- and that’s a shame. This novel puts the science back in science fiction. Space arcs embarked on a light years’ long journey to a new world; a ship wide computer that rivals Stanley Kubrik’s Hal. This book reads itself --- it’s a kind of outer space “who-done-it”. Even though we know who: that dastardly computer JASON. The surprise is we don’t know why he/it did it.
Fast reading, exciting, gripping: all of these can be applied to Golden Fleece.
