This book is a fraud. It doesn't reveal the identity of "the papers" until the very end, after interminatable pages about archeological excavations in Italy that have little connection to the main theme. And it turns out that most of "the papers" are still unavailable for research and publication.

I thought that this book would actually share those papers (if such papers exist), but it seems to be giving more about those times and what life was like back then.

It was ok. The first half was interesting (the research)but the conclusions are pretty questionable.
