"Steve Carell (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, The Daily Show) stars in The Office, a fresh and funny mockumentary-style glimpse into the daily interactions of the eccentric workers at the Dunder Mifflin paper supply company. Based on the smash-hit British series of the same name and adapted for American Television by Greg Daniels (King of the Hill, The Simpsons), this fast-paced comedy parodies contemporary American water-cooler culture. Earnest but clueless regional manager Michael Scott (Carell) believes himself to be an exceptional boss and mentor, but actually receives more eye-rolls than respect from his oddball staff. Entertainment Weekly calls The Office 'smart and trenchant,' and all six hilarious season one episodes are available here on DVD for the first time. The awkward silences in The Office will have you laughing out loud!"--Container.

The Office is my absolute "go to" when I need an uplifted mood. Each time I see it, I laugh as if I'm seeing it for the first time.

This show was very funny and i really liked it. There are a few bad or innapropriate jokes but overall it is good., The innapropriate jokes are sometimes hard to undertand for young ones so it is ok.

One my favourite shows, so funny and light hearted. The show itself has many great actors whom you fall in love with. They are characters you can laugh, smile and cry with. The show does require a certain type of humour. The first season is a hard season to get through, but it is worth it. The show premiered in 2005, the first season has 6 episode which are roughly 20 minutes long. The episodes are not dragged out, for me it was very funny. What can I say, Michael Scott and the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company won over my heart. I would recommend this show to everyone. 4/5 stars. @Gray19 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

The Office is an American mockumentary sitcom based off of the United Kingdom original. This television show was created by Greg Daniels, and written and produced by Mindy Kaling. The first season of The Office introduces many of the main, recurring characters. These characters include a very questionable regional manager- Michael Scott, an unusual assistant to the regional manager- Dwight Schrute, a popular paper salesman- Jim Halpert, and a receptionist named Pam. While there are a couple more, the storylines often revolve around these characters. Throughout the first season, you get a taste of how silly Michael can be, and also how crazy Dwight can get. I think this is a perfect show to watch when relaxing or even for a date night. It’s simple humour and hilarious stories are sure to put a smile on your face. I recommend this to anyone who likes laughing at dumb jokes. I would give the first season 4/5.

Any words that I say about The Office is less than what it deserves. I just recently watched it, and I couldn’t lay off the screen for a moment! Although the name ‘The Office’ truly makes the viewers wonder what could be so interesting about it, the spin on how the crew and cast made it so ‘bingable’ is noteworthy. Afterall, it is simply a documentary about the American workplace, how could be so engrossing? A short summary of the answer: the characters. Michael, the hilarious and totally inappropriate boss in the workplace. Jim, the obvious prankster. Dwight, the hard worker who is also very serious and never in the mood for games (which only spurs jim on). Pam, the classic secretary (and so much more). All of them, including Phyllis, Meredith, Creed, Derryll, Kelly and Ryan, made the show so interesting! And although it is obvious that the documentary crew focused more on Michael, Jim, Dwight, and Pam, it never took away the essence of the other characters. Overall, I could watch this season over and over again, and never get tired of it. @thesoundofcolours of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

The TV Show "The Office" , with Executive Producers as Steve Carell, Mindy Kailing and more, is one of the best shows that I have ever watched. Micheal Scott (portryed by: Steve Carell) is regional manager of fictional paper company "Dunder Mifflin". Dwight Shrute (Rain Wilson) is assistant to the regional manager and has a friendly war going on with Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) who pranks Dwight any chance he gets. Jim has a crush on Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) but she has a boyfriend. A camera crew follows them around documenting their everyday lives at the workplace. I give this show a 5/5. It is a light, hilarious show that is enjoyable anytime. It makes you laugh like crazy, but can make you cry. This show has everything in it, including romance as you see Jim fall for Pam and vice versa. I love this show!

When this show was fairly prominent as something to catch when you were flipping through the channels, I managed to never catch on to it. Now, that it's been gone a little while and perhaps because it's on Netflix, I've had several recommendations come my way and I couldn't ignore them.

The show is obviously hilarious. I wonder if it lacks some of the overall depth and enjoyability of greats like Seinfeld or even Friends. On the pure hilarity scale The Office may have both of them beat - almost crushed lol. However, I'm not sure if for me The Office will have the same longevity.

Steve Carell is hilarious and this show seems to prove a playground for whatever type of banter and idiosyncratic behaviour he seems to fancy. (May be equally true for him as an actor and his character.) Obviously the supporting cast is what makes the show possible and shan't be left out.

Season one contains six solid episodes, and it's nice to have a show good right out the gates rather than one I gave up on early on (see: Curb Your Enthusiasm). For me, I found "Basketball" to be particularly hilarious as they choreographed some funny stuff during the game and Steve Carell soaked some good juice out of being "that guy" who talks a good game and then air balls his jump shot as badly as is humanly possible (and then he has to try to maintain his 'coolness').

Also, one of the funniest moments came in The Pilot (or maybe ep2) where Steve Carell's character talks of his biggest inspirations... And God was one of them since he admires "people who made a difference in the world." Lol

Remains to be seen how hard I'm going to go after watching season two but there's no doubt The Office is a fun playground for interesting comedy.

A solid show that stands well on its own. Although, I do prefer the British version.
