I just discovered James Michener and this was my first book and WOW what a fun way to learn about history and get enjoyment at the same time. Previously I read all of John Jakes books, and the Wagon West series by Dana Ross Fuller, which got me hooked on historical fiction. Glad that I found James Michener. YAY!

If you thought you knew what this was about because you've read Hawai'i, think again. That's what I thought. This is so very worth reading, that I'm embarrassed I never did before now.
