"Josh Harnett (The Black Dahlia, Pearl Harbor) crosses over to the dark side in this bone-chilling adaptation of the cult-hit graphic novel, brought to the screen in all its demonic glory. In a small Alaskan town, thirty days of night is a natural phenomenon. Very few outsiders visit, until a band of bloodthirsty, deathly pale vampires mark their arrival by savagely attacking sled dogs. But soon they find there are much more satisfying thirst-quenchers about: human beings. One by one, the townspeople succumb to a living nightmare, but a small group survives - at least for now. The vampires use the dark to their advantage, and surviving this cold hell is a game of cat and mouse - and screams."--Container.

If you like horror and suspense this is the movie to watch! Very very very scary and worth it, acting is outstanding, in my humble opinion.

The story, scrip and acting are all serviceable. What really makes this film stand out is the cinematography and the location. And its pretty gory. They did use some CGI blood at times, but mostly good. A lot more fun and moody than I had anticipated. Kind of wrote this one off until a friend recommended it. It best quality is that the vampires are heartless and terrifying, not emo teenagers trying to get laid.

One of the best vampire films of the decade. Period. New twists on an old tale and has my most favourite line of dialogue. "Ah, the one who fights."

A simple, occasionally clever, rehash of plot devices taken from every zombie and vampire movie ever made and all played out in a setting borrowed right from Carpenter’s “The Thing”. Slade adds nothing new to the mythos but he bombards the screen with so much razzle-dazzle that you could almost mistake it for something fresh. From the giddy camerawork to the well-choreographed action sequences this is one of the more entertaining no-brainers I’ve seen in some time. I may even rent the inevitable sequel.

Yep. If you're seriously looking for a ferocious, modern-day vampire story that contains no glamour, just gore, then 30 Days Of Night just might be more than enough to satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst.

Set in far-off Barrow, Alaska (during their winter's month-long polar-night), a voracious troupe of no-name vampires unceremoniously waltz into town and immediately engage in a brutal, non-stop feeding frenzy where Barrow's terrified citizens are the #1 choice on the menu.

Even though this $30 million horror story was noticeably over-long at 152 minutes, its pace rarely seemed to lag and its blood-splattered gore and hideous make-up effects were, without question, first-rate.

One problem with 30 Days' story was that no background was given on this particular pack of hissing, screeching bloodsuckers. Without being clued into their origins, one is left wondering exactly how old they are and how they've managed to survive up to this point.

Even though 30 Days did deliver a pretty gruesome story of hide-n-seek, it inevitably lost itself some significant points for its blatant product placement of Pepsi and Oreo cookies.

Really liked this movie, i never read the comic so i'm unsure how close they stuck to the original story. But as far as this movie goes it was original and the ending didn't let me down. It didn't puss out like so many of the films now a days do.

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. Not too bad---good performance.

One of the things i love about this movie is the visuals. The colors are very good for blood and dark backgrounds. I was also impressed with some of the sounds from this movie. This horror flick works well on your HOMETHEATER. I like the vampires and their savage ways of getting blood from their victims. The tone of this film is good for scaring the viewer. But i must say it's the visuals that are outstanding in this movie. I'll give this movie 4 stars. Very good visuals and colors, ok characters, good sound, and ok story. A large pizza with extra tomato sauce and cheese. Root beer.

The look & behavior of the vampires is particularly well done. The plot is your standard "survive the monster attack" fare, but still, one of the better of the genre.

Loose adaption of the graphic novel. I had watched this years ago before reading the comics and now rewatched it after the comics. There is so much going on in the movie that isn't going on in the comic. That is a good thing. The action and gore are top notch and the surprise twist is very effective and cool. The acting is pretty decent. Overall, I like the movie as an action horror hybrid but don't expect to be scared.
