Absolutely adore this book. I first read the series when it came out, and loved it. I had't thought about the series in forever, when I saw it on the shelf last week when I was studying at the library. I checked it out not sure if I would even have time to start it, and same as last time I read it, I finished the entire book in a couple evenings. This book is paced really well, I have a very busy schedule and so I get bored easily if a book is too slow moving, but Suzanne does an amazing job and keeping the reader intrigued and engaged. There are no stagnant moments in the book where you feel bored. No overly descriptive sections where you're half reading half thinking about something else... I have just taken out Catching Fire, and its just so funny to me as I had no plans of rereading the series, but once you start the books, you can not put them down! They are so addictive, with suspense on every page! This is the type of book where you feel you just cannot read fast enough and find yourself taking peeks at the next page before your done to see whats going to happen next!

I'm sure this books' popularity speaks for itself, but I loved this book all those years ago that I read it. The story stays with you, the characters are lovely and complex and lead simple lives around a complicated future. The dystopia of this book is perplexingly bleak but also full of grandeur. The bond the characters share, and the sacrifices made in this book, haunt you for life.

I enjoyed the hunger games because it's one of those books you never get tired of reading. I also really like botany and living off the land and that is what Katniss Everdeen does. She hunts, she collects plants (edible ones) and she uses everything she kills or collects. I like reading things I can relate to, and the hunger games (the book, not the actual game) is one of those things I can relate to (not the killing part, the evil president part or the districts part).

I don't think any teens should read this book or the series.
This should be an adult book.To much violence for me -_-

I really enjoyed reading this book because it was super interesting and it never got boring. I give this book a 4/5 star rating because I really enjoyed it. This was my favourite book I have ever read and I can't wait to read the other ones in this series.

In a post nuclear world, North America is now Panem – made up of 12 districts and one capital that rules them all. Every year, there are the Hunger Games – each district sends a girl and a boy, chosen by lottery, to “play” in a deadly game where only one can “win” – the game ends with only one survivor. Katniss is a 16- year-old from district 12, and through her eyes, we see a cruel and compelling world. This book is the first one in a trilogy, followed by Catching Fire, and then Mockingjay. Great writing, awesome story, and I couldn’t put it down! (submitted by SC)
