The authors know a lot about gardening, but their superior tone is a turn-off (snarky comments about how they love inexperienced gardeners who plant their tomato plants too close together and have to come back for more, resulting in continuous cash flow for their center). This book may be good for someone very timid who wants their start into gardening to be rigorously planned, but there are better books out there that balance planning with friendly advice.

this book is really virtually useless
I found it to be of no benefit and a huge disappointment

No space is wasted on photos (except one) and it helps you plan the improvements and growth from year to year, including rotation planting. If you are serious, you will want to buy this book for yourself, rather than borrowing it several times a year as you progress.
