"In his position as tracker for the SnowDancer pack, it’s up to Drew Kincaid to rein in rogue changelings who have lost control of their animal halves--even if it means killing those who have gone too far. But nothing in his life has prepared him for the battle he must now wage to win the heart of a woman who makes his body ignite…and who threatens to enslave his wolf. Lieutenant Indigo Riviere doesn’t easily allow skin privileges, especially of the sensual kind--and the last person she expects to find herself craving is the most wickedly playful male in the den. Everything she knows tells her to pull back before the flames burn them both to ash…but she hasn’t counted on Drew's will. Now, two of SnowDancer’s most stubborn wolves find themselves playing a hot, sexy game even as lethal danger stalks the very place they call home…"--Back cover.

While I do tend to give Singh's books 3-4 stars, know that I tend to score books low. I really enjoy these books even though it's pretty much the same love story every time with different characters. Boy meets girl. Girl meets boy. Lust ensues rife with dominance issues. Either the girl or the boy (usually the girl) is put in mortal peril. I find the world Singh has created very interesting, especially the progression of the impending political upheaval with the Psy and changes in the changling pack structure and how both parties view the world around them. However, I don't enjoy the romances between two changelings as much as the other romances. There just wasn't much tension in this story, and I suspect this one is probably laying the groundwork for subsequent novels.

3.5 stars. What is wrong with me? Everyone loved this one! I loved Drew, he's just too much fun, and Indigo, all strong and sensible and their chemistry was refreshingly fun. However....NOTHING ELSE HAPPENED! I'm tired of there being nothing but hints of things to come but nothing major ever happening. No Kaleb, No Ghost, No Ming, No Sasha, very little Nikita/Anthony... Did she save it for Hawke's book? (I know that one's gonna be great esp discovering was an "X-Psy" is). This book felt like "filler" to me and could almost be read as a stand-alone PNR.

Gosh, a lot of this book esp. the ending was too entirely similar to Mercy & Riley's book and lacked excitement. Dominance issues, the mating bond finally snaps together, someone gets hurt then healed ...HEA... been there, done that. This book (old library copy) also had an cheesy book cover (like Mercy's). The guy looks like he's 18 years old and, since he has NO muscle, is sooo NOT romance-cover-worthy.

Indigo's initial resistence to Drew was somewhat understandable (helped by the Aunt/Uncle conflict) but the "prolonged" resistence due to the age difference and dominance issue seem like weak obstacles to overcome. Of course, though, it was a pleasure seeing Drew charm and win her over with cheesecake and chocolate kisses!

Other than the one very brief scene close to the end, there was very little action in this book.

This book is a perfect "beach" book. Mindless and fun...that's it.
