Padraig O'Malley argues that the time for a two-state solution has passed. After examining each issue and speaking with Palestinians and Israelis as well as negotiators directly involved in past summits, O'Malley concludes that even if such an agreement could be reached, it would be nearly impossible to implement given the staggering costs, Palestine's political disunity and the viability of its economy, rapidly changing demographics, Israel's continuing political shift to the right, global warming's effect on the water supply, and more. O'Malley believes we must find new frameworks for reconciliation if there is to be lasting peace between Palestine and Israel. Padraig O'Malley is the Moakley Chair for Peace and Reconciliation at the McCormack Graduate School of Global and Policy Studies, University of Massachusetts.

While Padraig O'Malley comes to the right conclusion he gets there in an underhanded way. In virtually every Chapter the Israelis are at fault though your supposed to believe he's used a thoroughness for equitablility. There is one single fact about the conflict that everyone misses legitimately or just ignores out of anti-semitic hate. There is no peace process because that would preclude that Israel has someone to negotiate with. The eggheads of academia who have allegedly studied this conflict actually ddon't have a legitimate leg to stand on. Israel is at war with the Islamic World, not the Palestinians, and it's the Islamic World that is calling the shots. The UN and West don't care about a Palestine State. What they want is an end to Israel. This attitude persists for every resolution they make against Israel, yet, where are there any resolutions against the Palestinians? None! That's because the Palestinians, Muslims, are there solely for a Proxy-War/Terrorism against Israel. Yasser Arafat years ago stated the reality of the Palestinian. If he tried a Two-State resolution he would be killed because either the Islamic World would kill him or the various factions of Palestinian Muslims. The reality is that Israel has no one to negotiate with because the Palestinians are there to fight for the Islamic Umma. It doesn't matter who Israel negotiates with there will be no resolution and the Islamic World will make sure no resolution is accepted. One last thing is that YItzak Rabin handed over the West Bank and Gaza for nothing. Israel will eventually come to the conclusion, once again, that Israel needs to throw out the Palestinians. That's the only way they will achieve a modicum of peace. What I found with the author is that he hides his anti-semitism very badly because in his view Israel and the Jews are always at fault.
