"Childhood friends Lily (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Amanda (Olivia Cooke) reconnect in suburban Connecticut after years of growing apart. Lily has turned into a polished, upper-class teenager, with a fancy boarding school on her transcript and a coveted internship on her resume; Amanda has developed a sharp wit and her own particular attitude, but all in the process of becoming a social outcast. Though they initially seem completely at odds, the pair bond over Lily's contempt for her oppressive stepfather, Mark, and as their friendship grows, they begin to bring out one another's most destructive tendencies. Their ambitions lead them to hire a local hustler, Tim, and take matters into their own hands to set their lives straight."--Container.

I usually like dark humour or even twisted humour however I did not find this movie to be funny. Both girls were sociopaths that lack a conscience. Maybe I lost my sense of humour or just watched to many movies but I did not find this one to be enjoyable.

If you like strange weird and violent themes...go for it. If you prefer something that is inspiring or thoughtful pass on this one. I wish I had.

A low key and low budget attempt to do a Hitchcock film that combines Strangers on a Train and Rope. There is even a passing resemblence to the much superior Heavenly Creatures from Peter Jackson. Here we have two upper class young girls who are both pyschopathic and come together in the worst way friends can in certain situations. Both young actresses Olivia Cooke and especially Anya Taylor Joy are quite good in this slight but not uninteresting film.

I heard this called a black comedy, and the trailer made it look a bit like "Heathers" and while it has a few comic moments, it's not really funny. Two teenage girls (Olivia Cooke, Anya Taylor-Joy) in a wealthy suburb plot the murder of one of their stepfathers. It has a bit of a Hitchcock feel to it, as filtered through an indie film. The two lead are very good and the blandly luxurious setting is a nice contrast to the violence. If there's a flaw, it's that the stepfather character (played by Paul Sparks from "Boardwalk Empire" and "House of Cards") doesn't really seem murder worthy. The late Anton Yelchin co-stars as a local drug dealer.

Dark and twisted but sooo well done! The acting is really good and the movie is beautifully filmed and written/directed. Wouldn’t say the plot really matches with the various synopses but presumably they are trying not to give too much away and to make the plot appeal to and attract the most viewers. I found the actual plot way more interesting and unusual than those more generic descriptions.

Highly disappointing. Not sure why I even borrowed this movie, the preview must have been more interesting. I fast-forwarded through much of the movie, because it was boring and the acting sucked. They made it look like the 2 girls were going to kiss and make out, by the way they were always staring at each other. It was a total waste of time.

A dark, well written and entertaining movie. Certainly not something that will be for everyone, though, and that's okay.

I was very pleasantly surprised by it.

Really disliked it..Too dark and nasty! Didn't finish it! I didn't realize this was a Thriller! I have seen good thrillers in the past! This is not it! Good riddance! I wouldn't recommend it!

I really liked the way this movie answered a question while asking several more in the build-up of the plot. The ending, however, was quite the opposite - it telegraphed what was going to happen and didn't make much sense to me. A well-acted disappointment.

The preview looked interesting but the film blew me away. The writer/director is a young man but wise beyond his years. The acting was outstanding! Film-noir at it's finest!!! Highly recommended!!!
