I thought this was a very good film. At the beginning I thought it sorta gushy, so I paused and got on my computer to research the "real". Well, the actor pretty much portrayed Caroline.
Helen Hunt went so far as to study the actual coach so she could talk and move like her. There was not much straying from the real story.
I really liked the sound track choices in the film.
It is a film for teens and up, and wholesome.
Watch the first bonus feature, and see the xtra pictorial footage during the credits.

A very touching and inspiring story. Objectively, the movie probably doesn't deserve 4.5 stars, probably only 3.5 stars, but I found it to be a very touching and inspiring story, so I subjectively moved my rating up for that. The acting is pretty good. Erin Moriarty did a strong job in the lead role. I found the story to be a bit dull/slow during the first part of the second act. I have not read the script, so not sure if that is writing or direction. There were some predictable moments, but a lot of moments that really made the [SPOILER ALERT] loss of a main character feel real and allowed the viewer to connect with the characters and go along for the journey. It definitely ignores the reality of high school juniors and seniors (parties and dating are unfortunately usually way past dancing and "do you think he will kiss you?" for upperclassmen today). This is the Disney-style version of the story. If you're looking for a grittier, Friday Night Lights version of girls' high school volleyball, this is not it. But if you want to spend 100 minutes with the Disney version of a group of girls coming together to deal with the heartache of loss to find inspiration and success, this is a pretty strong and enjoyable film.

The miracle season is based on a true story of a girl’s volleyball team at West High School. It is about a girl “Caroline” also known as “Line” who is found dead in an accident which was one of the saddest things to happen the rest of the team players need to stick together to win the state championships under the guidance of their tough yet very loving coach Kathy Bresnahan. I found this movie sad because it was a tragic loss but the ending of the movie was kind of like a happy ending because it was happy tears. I rate this movie 4 out of 5 because I actually liked this movie. @movieslayer123 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

This movie is based on the true story of a high school girls volleyball team who must work together to win the season after their star player tragically dies. In my opinion, the movie simply took advantage of a true and sad story in order to make an easy profit by creating constant tear-jerker scenes and having unattainably inspiring messages. The movie could have done the true story justice by focusing more on the personal stories of the characters and less so on the dramatic effect of a teenage girl dying then something good coming out of it. I would rate this movie 3/5 stars @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

I absolutely love this movie! I went to see it in Elvis with some friends, and we were constantly crying throughout the movie. It was really hard when Line died, but I love the message. I love the comeback the team makes and their endeavor to Live Like Line. Line left a beautiful legacy, and I am going to strive to live like Line. I loved Line's character, her constant smiling, and her ability to spread her joy. I also admire her ability to be happy when she knows her mom is going to die. Helen Hunt made an amazing coach! At first, I thought the coach was being too hard on the girls, but there was no way they could have made it as hard as they did without her. Really, her being strict and pushing them was her way to push through her own grief. Line was truly the heartbeat of the team, and I truly admire the team's ability to go as far as they did in volleyball after their horrible tragedy. Almost makes you want to play volleyball yourself. No, I really do now. :) Five star movie. If I could give it more, I would. Great movie to see with friends and family, but would not particularly recommend it for young children. What else is amazing is that it is a true story. Absolutely amazing!
