Matilda Macaroni loves to try new foods! Unfortunately, her parents don't. They only like pizza delivered, burgers from a bag, and noodles from a box. What's a girl with adventurous tastes to do? The engaging heroine of this fun, twisted picture book manages to turn the tables on her finicky parents and teach them that dinner can be more than chicken nuggets.

Great read for that picky eater! Matilda’s parents only eat “elbow macaroni (only mixed with orange-colored powder from a packet) or cereal (only if it was sugary & turned the milk a different color)” plus a few other kids menu type items. “They refused to even try anything else.”

Matilda takes things into her own hands & “practiced with a willing grown-up whenever she could” and shows how kids can take initiative yet learn how to do things safely and with guidance. In addition its great to do things together & you don’t know if you don’t try.

Many great lessons in this story along with vocabulary & creativity.

This book is already good enough for it's twist on a topic many families know all-too-well, dealing with a picky eater. Yet, there's more to this than just the humor of Matilda training her parents to try new food. It's also a lesson on the steps to teach your kid how to cook. It's a story of a family coming together over a new pastime. It even comes with a quiche recipe in the back for families to try at home. This is just a fantastic book!
