The fourth installment in this sad, unfortunate story is even more miserable than the first three, as told by the title of this book. The Lucky Smells Lumber Mill truly is a miserable place, and the orphans don’t just live there, but they also work there. But where is Count Olaf in all of this? That is the most surprising, and dare I say, unpleasant truth in all of this. With more deception and trickery than ever before, this heinous—a word that means “despicable and horrible”—man tries once again to get his hands on the Baudelaire fortune. If you’re still interested in following the misfortunes of the Baudelaire orphans, then by all means, pick up this book. Just remember that this book does not have a happy ending.
