I honestly don’t know why I like this book so much. It’s not like it’s not predictable, or full of clichés, or super original... and yet, I simply couldn’t put it down

The book is predictable and extremely formulaic and at times it almost feels like the author creates obstacles for the main characters so that the story will be longer. Nevertheless, despite the plot and the writing being pure bubble gum erotic male/male romance, Ms. Edwards does it very, very well and ends up with a very entertainint and readable bookThe book is predictable and extremely formulaic and at times it almost feels like the author creates obstacles for the main characters so that the story will be longer. While the story was okay, I felt I couldn’t quite identify with the main character. He sounded like a grown up trying to impersonate a teenager, not like what a real teenager would sound. It also did not help that the book made me feel like it was a matter of “us vs them” when referring to gay and straight issuesWhile the story was okay, I felt I couldn’t quite identify with the main character. Sometimes the only way to find out for sure if an author is or isn’t for you is to read one of their books. After reading this one, I have to say Mr. Bram definitely is not for me. This book left me not only angry at the end but with a sense of having wasted my time. I was going to give up on it about a third of the way in but I mistakenly decided to keep going and by the time I reconsidered I was past the halfway mark and I decided to finish. I had an extreme dislike for the main character, for some of his very childish actions, for the feeling that I had that he somehow expected life to owe him something because things didn’t work out the way he had planned, for the way he started a relationship, for the way he so easily cheated on his partner and how he rationalized his actions, and for how when his partner did not respond with the drama he had expected, he was disappointed and angry and then felt like he was the one who had been somehow wronged. I’ve seen many very good reviews for this book and I’m glad other people liked it but I cannot recommend it at allSometimes the only way to find out for sure if an author is or isn’t for you is to read one of their books. The book is not terrible and it’s a quick read but there really isn’t anything original in the characters or the plot. Sweet story but one that’s been told many times and the author’s writing is nothing more than average

Nothing original about the book but still entertaining. Typical for its genre

Much better than many of the books of the same genre I have read. Despite the clichés and stereotypes and the cheesy predictable ending, the author has the ability to make the story fun and enjoyable

I thought it was much better than “Men From The Boys.” I still think the book’s biggest flaw is the celebration of the discrimination that goes on in gay circles, the same discrimination that gay men will complain about from straight people. These “circuit boys” will never even glance at someone unless they have a perfect body (like the book says) and will in fact ignore the person or maybe mock them. When straight peope do that to gay men, those gay men will be the first ones to cry homophobia and discrimination. So, the flaw is that there is an expectation to be accepted and respected but without doing the same in return.I thought it was much better than “Men From The Boys.” I still think the book’s biggest flaw is the celebration of the discrimination that goes on in gay circles, the same discrimination that gay men will complain about from straight people. I am not sure why this books has gotten so many accolades. I understand it presents a slice of gay life in the early and mid 90’s (and since I lived through them, it’s not like I’m ignorant about the period) but maybe because the author and myself are so different, I found it hard to sympathize and empathize with his musings. I don’t have a perfect body, I don’t have a lover that has been with me for 6 years, I don’t believe in “tricking” when being in a relationship, I don’t think sleeping with your friends’ boyfriends shows a great deal of friendship, honesty, or respect. It’s okay to read about people like the author but after about 100 pages where he complains for one thing or another that many of us would be grateful for, it becomes repetitive and irritatingI am not sure why this books has gotten so many accolades. Wasn't particularly impressed by this book from Deaver. I don't like plots where the characters come up with totally unbelievable leaps of logic not just once but 2 or 3 times, making you wonder why they didn't make the right decisions in the first placeWasn't particularly impressed by this book from Deaver. It was an okay read but the oversimplification of the armed conflict was at times painful. Even the subplots seemed to compete with the main plot instead of cooperating with it. I did enjoy the ample bibliography for all the technology, though

I have read most of the books by Rollins but I didn't like this one very much. I thought the Native American angle in the plot was great but when he tried to include the tribes of Israel and the Mormons into it, I think he went too far and instead of adding to the book he actually made less enjoyable and believableI have read most of the books by Rollins but I didn't like this one very much. I have not read any of the Harry Potter books so I cannot compare the writing between the genres. I definitely liked the two main characters, the detective and his new secretary, and the approach to the narrative was very reminiscing of Poirot and Holmes. However, the book felt too long, I didn't have any problem putting it away to finish later - no need to keep pages turning to see what happened next. I can only hope the next one in this series is betterI have not read any of the Harry Potter books so I cannot compare the writing between the genres. I must admit this is not my usual genre but the premise sounded when I saw this book in my recommendations and I decided to give it a try. I thought it was an okay book with some very interesting twists in the plot along with some very cheesy clichés. I really enjoyed this book. The story adds the usual trackers for the Gray Man but this time it adds the Mossad to the pursuit. At the end, I just had to keep reading to know what would happen. Very typical Kellerman. I think the book was longer than it needed to be. Ironically, Dr. Delaware's character seems to be emotionally stuck and his inner conflicts could be the same as in the previous two books.
